On October 26, 2024, the "Carrying Forward the Jia Geng Spirit, Promoting Contemporary Values—2024 Xiamen University Shenzhen Alumni Summit Forum and New Student Welcome Conference," hosted by the Xiamen University Shenzhen Alumni Association, was grandly opened at the Shenzhen Futian Convention and Exhibition Center. Thousands of Xiamen University alumni with shared sentiments gathered in Shenzhen, reminiscing about their campus days, renewing their friendships, and working together to inject new impetus into the development of their alma mater, helping it to achieve new glories.
In her address, Sun Xiaoli, Chairperson of Hekewei Group and President of the Xiamen University Shenzhen Alumni Association, emphasized that the theme of the conference, "Carrying Forward the Jia Geng Spirit, Promoting Contemporary Values," aims to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Mr. Chen Jia Geng's birth. At the conference, the promotional video of the moving symphonic poem drama, "Jia Shu ∙ 2963," became the focus of attention. Even more anticipated was the presence of Huang Xiaofang, Secretary-General of the Xiamen University Xiamen Entrepreneur Alumni Association and a key member of the drama's creative team, who emotionally shared the touching story behind its creation. Subsequently, President Sun Xiaoli announced the exciting news that the national premiere of "Jia Shu ∙ 2963" will be held in Shenzhen next year, instantly igniting the enthusiasm of all the alumni present, who expressed their full support and eager anticipation for this cultural event with thunderous applause.
The presence of Professor Zhu Chongshi, former president of Xiamen University, added warmth and solemnity to the conference. He received a warm welcome from the alumni, who lined up to take photos with the respected former president, expressing their deep admiration and affection. Professor Zhu Chongshi stated that the deep affection Xiamen University alumni have for their alma mater stems from the Jia Geng spirit flowing in their blood.
At the alumni summit forum, outstanding alumni representatives delivered inspiring keynote speeches. Among them, Mr. Chen Wei, Chairman of Oriental Fortune Capital, and Professor Gong Xiaofeng, doctoral supervisor at Shenzhen University, respectively delivered insightful keynote speeches from a global perspective, providing the alumni with cutting-edge insights and thoughts, benefiting the audience greatly.
In addition to her behind-the-scenes efforts in ensuring the success of the conference, Ms. Sun Xiaoli, Chairperson of Hekewei Group and President of the Shenzhen Alumni Association, generously sponsored "Hekewei Gift Packs" worth over 80,000 yuan, containing the group's newly developed high-fiber toast and classic bread products. Ms. Sun Xiaoli mentioned that the Xiamen University Shenzhen Alumni Association, since its establishment 36 years ago, has always upheld the Jia Geng spirit, striving to be an inheritor of "self-improvement and striving for excellence." She hoped that the participating alumni would deeply feel the warmth and care of the Xiamen University Shenzhen Alumni Association family at this event. At the same time, President Sun Xiaoli once again called on Shenzhen alumni to actively participate in the "箪食瓢饮、衔环涌泉" donation activity, continuing the tradition of free rice in Xiamen, allowing this care and warmth to continue to be passed on.
